Dear Friends of LTW,

Thanks in advance for taking your valuable time to read the following updates on the ministry of Louder Than Words in Honduras.  We value your friendship and partnership in ministry.

I was encouraged this past week as one of our readers said, “I really appreciate the newsletters you send out from the ministry.”  I want you to be informed on the ministry and if you have questions or feedback please dont hesitate to contact me.

Blessings,

Executive Director

Give Hope 2 Orphans

An opportunity to serve ONE of the least of these

For the past two years Louder Than Words has facilitated a Christmas project we have called Give Hope 2 Orphans (GH2O).  This year we will be partnering with a new orphanage and will be collecting backpacks filled with Christmas gifts for these precious orphaned children.
You may be asking, “How can I be involved in this ministry?”  Well, I’m glad you asked!  There are two ways for you to be involved.  One, you can fill a backpack with child appropriate gifts and clothing.  We will provide you with the sizes, age and gender of a child at the orphanage.  Second, you can go on the delivery team to “hand deliver” these backpack gifts to these orphaned children in Honduras.

If you would like information on packing a backpack or possibly going on this GH2O mission trip please contact us with the contact information in this e-news.

A Pastoral Inspiration

The story of Pastor Jorge

Article ImageThis past summer we worked in a new Lenca village called San Isidro, La Paz.  We were the first group of North Americans to minister in this remote village. That fact is really insignificant compared to Pastor Jorge’s story.

We were told that we would be greeted by “Brother Jorge” as we approached the village on late on Friday evening.  I was thinking of another Jorge, but I remembered “Brother Jorge” from another Lenca village we had worked in for the past couple years.  What I didn’t know was that “Brother Jorge” was the pastor of this new church plant in San Isidro, La Paz.

If you looked at the picture and said to yourself, “he looks really young.”  You’re right!  Pastor Jorge just turned 18.  He left his home village and moved, at 18 years of age, to start a new church in a village where there is no church! As we ministered alongside this young man during the week I was even more impressed with his desire to serve God and get this church off the ground. I wish every reader of this e-news could meet Jorge.  You’d be encouraged by his passion to serve our Lord!

Why do we minister in Honduras?  One reason is because of young men like Jorge who are willing to go to places no one else will go and do the hard work of starting a church in a place where there is no church.  A portion of your monthly gifts to the 200×20 campaign will help support young men like Jorge as they share the Gospel with many who don’t know Jesus.
