 NEW BEDS FOR ORPHANS!
Have you ever slept in a bed where you could feel the bars/slats in your back all night? When I think of those nights and it brings back memories of summer camp or sleeping on a sofa bed at a friends home. It's nights like that that make you appreciate your own bed. What if, however, your own bed was that way every night? I'm sure you would want to do something about it. That's the way we feel about the children's beds at one of the orphanages we help in Honduras. On a recent trip there we discovered the girls were sleeping on foam pads that were less than adequate for comfortable sleep. Also, because the girls also deal with lice infestation on a regular basis, the decision was made to purchase new beds and pillows for all of them. Our plan is to treat the girls for their lice and then give them their new mattresses. The plan was changed slightly when one of the boys at the orphanage heard the talk about new beds for the girls. He implored, "Mrs. Amy please get us new beds too because I can feel the bars in my back all night." How can you say no to that? So, we will be purchasing 34 new mattresses and pillows for all the children at the orphanage. We are trying to raise a total of $2000 for this project. Each mattress costs $58. We've already received a generous donation to cover the cost of all the pillows. If you would like to participate in this project please click on the donate button below and you can give you donation securely online via paypal. Thanks in advance for your partnership in this much needed project. Mark S. Moore, Executive Director
